      American Spirit Media, LLC is a broadcasting company based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Founded by Thomas B. Henson in 2003, American Spirit Media owns television stations in six cities across the United States.

      Thomas B. Henson started his career in 1980 as an attorney with Robinson Bradshaw & Hinson, P.A., specializing in mergers and acquisitions. He is currently a director of Cato Corporation, a NYSE traded specialty retailer, and was a founding shareholder and director of Park Sterling Corporation, a NASDAQ traded bank, prior to its sale in 2017 to South State Corporation. He is also currently a director and past chairman of the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority, the entity responsible for management of Charlotte’s city-owned hospitality venues (Convention Center, Spectrum Center, Ovens Auditorium and Bojangles Coliseum). Mr. Henson has investments in and serves on the boards of numerous private companies.

      Mr. Henson founded Ottumwa Media Holdings in 2003 through the purchase of KYOU-TV in the Ottumwa, Iowa DMA. In August 2006, Ottumwa Media Holdings changed its name to American Spirit Media.
